VPK PROGRAMS EARN OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE DESIGNATIONS

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Leon County Schools is celebrating exceptional district-wide results following the release of the 2025–2026 Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Provider Performance Designations.

Every one of the district’s 26 VPK sites earned a designation of Meets Expectations or higher. No LCS site received a designation of Below Expectations, Unsatisfactory or Incomplete.

The district’s results include:

• 18 sites, or 69%, earned the highest designation of Excellent.
• Six sites, or 23%, earned Above Expectations.
• Two sites, or 8%, earned Meets Expectations.

“This is a remarkable achievement that reflects the commitment of our VPK teachers, paraprofessionals, principals and early-learning team,” Superintendent Rocky Hanna said. “The relationships they build, the care they provide and the intentional instruction happening in our classrooms are helping ensure our youngest learners enter kindergarten ready to succeed.”

The results also reflect the district’s continued emphasis on establishing strong academic foundations during a child’s earliest years in school.

“Our principals have made early learning a priority within their schools, and that leadership has made a meaningful difference,” said Brooke Brunner Director of Leon Schools Early Learning. “We are proud of everyone who supports our four-year-old students and helps them begin their educational journey with confidence.”
