Title III, Part A

Leon County Schools receive supplementary funding from the Federal government through Title III, Part A for our ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) program and for recently-arrived immigrant children and youth.

The grant supports services such as:

• ESOL paraprofessionals at schools with high populations of English Language Learners (ELLs) and /or immigrant students.
• Professional Learning for teachers and paraprofessionals on ESOL strategies to use with ELLs.
• Parent outreach through our Parent Leadership Council.
• Supplementary materials for language Acuisition.
• School supplies for immigrant students.
• Resources for parents of immigrant students – guides to the US and Leon County Schools; brochures on helping children and working with schools, parent involvement in learning.
• Academic support and services to qualified non-public schools based on the needs of identified ELL/Immigrant students.
