Dear Students of Leon County Schools,

I am excited to introduce you to an incredible opportunity that recognizes and celebrates your achievements in the arts: the Florida Seal of Fine Arts. This prestigious distinction is designed for high school students who have demonstrated exceptional skills and dedication in the areas of visual arts, music, dance, and theater. The Seal of Fine Arts serves not only as a mark of excellence but also as a valuable addition to your academic portfolio, showcasing your commitment to the arts as you prepare for college and future careers. 

To earn this distinction, students must complete a specified curriculum in the arts, participate in related extracurricular activities, and submit a portfolio or performance demonstrating their artistic abilities. Participating in this program allows you to stand out among your peers, gain recognition for your hard work, and connect with a vibrant community of artists. I encourage each of you to explore this opportunity, whether you’re deeply involved in the arts or just beginning your journey. Participation Fees for Home Education and Private School Students

In accordance with Leon County Schools Board Policy 2431, eligible home education and private school students who choose to participate in a Leon County Schools athletic team or performing arts program are required to pay the applicable participation fee for each sport and/or activity in which they participate.

The participation fee shall be the greater of:

• $400.00 per sport and/or activity, or
• The participation fee established for enrolled Leon County Schools students participating in that same sport or activity.

Only one participation fee will be assessed per sport or activity. Students will not be charged both amounts.

All participation fees are paid directly to the school where the student participates.
