What Does Title I Do?

  • Leon County Title I Plans are written by individual school sites and are directly correlated to the School-wide Improvement Plan as well as ESSA requirements. Schools in Leon County use Title I funds to support federal, state and local goals reflected in these school plans. Teachers, parents, administrators, students, and all stakeholders are involved in the development and implementation of each school's plan.

A school’s Parent and Family Engagement Plan supports parental involvement at each school. Required parent notifications, including the Title I School Compact and Parent Right to Know Notice, help to support the important role parents play in their child’s education.

  • A solid bond between the school and parents develops a school partnership which fosters a child's academic success. Academic performance in the classroom can be achieved through the parent resource centers by encouraging this relationship and focusing on families and their needs. The centers also encourage parent involvement in the schools and support families by providing a comfortable environment where family members can grow with each other and interact positively with the school.
