TITLE II, PART A: Nondiscrimination based on Disability in Public Accommodations and Commercial Facilities

Title I, Part A, provides local educational agencies (LEAs) with resources that help children gain a high-quality education and the skills to master Florida’s state academic standards. These resources provide additional teachers, professional learning, extra time for teaching, parent involvement activities, and other activities designed to raise student achievement. Two models are used in Title I schools to provide these services. The Schoolwide Program model provides all students with access to services. The Targeted Assistance Program model provides services to select students in Title I schools.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this part is to implement subtitle A of title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S. C. 12131–12134), as amended by the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADA Amendments Act) (Public Law 110–325, 122 Stat. 3553 (2008)), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability by public entities.
