Become a School-Based Custodian
Be the person who helps make sure our schools are clean, safe, welcoming, and ready for learning every day! School-Based Custodians play an essential behind-the-scenes role in creating a positive environment for students, teachers, and staff.
As a School-Based Custodian, you’ll take pride in caring for the school facility and helping keep everything running smoothly. Your responsibilities may include:
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and maintaining floors and common areas
- Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and other high-use areas
- Cleaning and maintaining classrooms, offices, hallways, and other school spaces
- Performing minor repairs and reporting maintenance needs
- Setting up and breaking down rooms for meetings, events, and activities
- Helping secure buildings and ensuring doors and facilities are properly maintained
- Monitoring the facility for safety concerns and addressing or reporting issues as needed
- Operating cleaning equipment and using supplies safely and appropriately
- Working with school staff to help maintain a clean, comfortable, and functional learning environment
