Why is our new Brand Important?

A consistent brand builds recognition, trust, and credibility. It shapes perceptions, influences how the district is viewed in terms of academic excellence, inclusivity, and innovation, and can even impact student enrollment, partnerships, and funding opportunities.

When a brand is consistent in its messaging, visual identity, and tone, it becomes easily recognizable, allowing audiences to form clear associations with its values and offerings. For organizations like school districts, it ensures that every communication, from websites to newsletters, reinforces the district’s mission, culture, and commitment to excellence.

Brand Logos

Logo: The logo breakdown serves as a reference for locating the correct file, as the file names assigned to your logo will follow a similar structure.  For example, the first logo below is the “Full color_Main_Stacked” option.

Safe Space

It is important to maintain a minimum amount of safe space around all logo variations to maximize visibility. Using an imaginary border equal to or greater than the width of the star element from the logo mark will give proper spacing around your logo. This will allow the logo to stand out from other elements used around it in design materials.

Logo File Formats

These are our approved file formats for print and digital use.

A gray icon representing an EPS file.EPS

Use it for: Print

An EPS logo file is best used when the logo needs to be scaled without losing quality, making it ideal for high-resolution printing. This format is perfect for creating large-scale materials like banners, billboards, and merchandise, as well as for use in marketing materials such as brochures or business cards.

A gray icon representing a JPG file.JPEG

Use it for: Web

A JPG logo file is suitable for use in situations where smaller file sizes are prioritized and high-resolution scaling isn't required. This format is ideal for web use, such as on websites, email signatures, or social media, where faster loading times are needed.

A gray icon representing a PNG file.PNG

Use it for: Web

A PNG logo file is ideal for digital use, particularly when you need a transparent background. PNG files retain detail and clarity without quality loss, making them perfect for use on websites, social media, presentations, and digital documents.

A statement from the Superintendent

This fresh look is a product of the unprecedented times we are in. Your public school system is facing challenges and a competitive marketplace that requires us to adapt and evolve.

We are ready for the challenge. Part of answering this call is committing to telling our story more effectively. It's for that reason that the Leon County School Board wisely directed our team to develop a marketing strategy to tout the amazing successes of our students, teachers, and staff.

As you know better than anyone, we have amazing stories to tell!

Now it's time to evolve our brand to reflect the excellence we strive for every day and the diversity within our school system. We hired a local marketing firm and have worked with them, hand in hand, over the last months to develop a plan to roll out and support the new brand. Our work was based on the latest market research, focus groups, and decades of expertise.

We are rolling out a new marketing campaign along with the new brand launch, and I couldn't be more excited about it. This campaign will tell OUR story - the LCS story - and connect students, families, teachers, and administrators in a way that has never been done here before.

The dollars we are investing in this effort should yield a strong return in student and teacher retention and boost our brand perception throughout our community.

It's past time to tell OUR stories in new and powerful ways. Our community needs to know about your students' remarkable work and our incredible schools.

If you like what you see in the video, we hope you will share your support far and wide. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to our administration office.

And as always, thank you for entrusting your children to Leon County Schools.

Sincerely,

Rocky Hanna,
Superintendent
