    Welcome!!

Welcome to School Improvement, Accountability and Testing—a division of Academic Services with Leon County Schools. The purpose of School Improvement, Accountability and Testing is to administer all district and state testing programs, analyze and share related data, and support district initiatives on student achievement.

Assessing students and monitoring their progress is an important part of what we do. With assessments, we understand that parents, students, and the school community may have questions. We encourage you to visit this site regularly to stay informed and to access related information. In addition to new standards, teacher evaluation has evolved due to state legislation. We continue to apply changes as they are approved and keep our instructional staff apprised of modifications.

We aim to provide you with the most up-to-date information on testing, program requirements, district performance data, and guidance for research requests. We welcome you and hope the information we supply meets your needs. If you need additional information, please contact our office at (850) 487-7834.

Announcements & Upcoming Events

    • Parents of Personalized Education Program (PEP) students may choose from the FDOE's list of approved norm-referenced assessments that are approved for other scholarship students attending participating private schools. Alternatively, PEP parents/guardians may arrange with their school district of residence to have their student take Florida's statewide assessments given to public school students during the third progress monitoring window (May 1-24, 2025). These assessments must be taken at a scheduled date and time and at school site designated by the district. If you would like your student to take a statewide assessment, these are the available assessments* (all administered in May 2025):
      • Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) for Grades 3–10 Reading and Grades 3–8 Mathematics
      • Science for Grades 5 and 8
      • End-of-Course assessments for Algebra 1, Biology 1, Civics, Geometry, and U.S. History

    * You must contact your school district’s assessment office by their local deadline to register for statewide testing. Do not contact your local public school or arrive for testing without making prior arrangements through the district office.

Please contact Kris Kolp, District Testing Coordinator, at (850) 487-7858 or via email at kolpk@leonschools.net if you are seeking information on PEP or Summer testing opportunities in Leon County.
