Public Notice Announcement of the Process Plan for Elementary (K-5) Social Studies Adoption
Posted by LCS Academic Services on 4/25/2023Leon County Schools Academic Services Announces the Elementary (K-5) Social Studies Adoption Committee Recommendation
The LCS Adoption Committee, composed of educators and parents, recommends Gallopade's Florida Social Studies, 1st Edition
To conclude the adoption process, LCS invites all interested stakeholders to participate in the public review period which will run from April 25, 2023 until the date of a public hearing to be held at the May 22, 2023 LCS School Board Meeting. The final vote on adoption will then be held at the June 20, 2023, school board meeting.

Public School Board Meetings will be held at the Howell Building (3955 W Pensacola Street) on the following days and times:
- February 14, 2023, 6 pm (Public Comment)
- February 28, 2023, 6 pm (Public and School Board Comment)
- March 7, 2023, 6 pm (Board will recommend a selection of materials; start of the public review period.)
- March 28, 2023, 6 pm (Board will vote on adoption)

Public Notice of Adoption of Instructional Materials - K-12 Math
Posted by Academic Services on 1/14/2023LCS Academic Services is pleased to announce our next steps in the K-12 Math instructional materials adoption process. For each math course, material from the publisher's list has been selected as a recommendation to the LCS school board to be further considered for adoption. Our upcoming work with these recommendations includes
- February 14, 2023, School Board Meeting - Discussion recommendations and the official start to the statutorily required public review period of at least twenty (20) calendar days
- March 7, 2023, School Board Meeting - Statutorily-required hearing for public comment or challenge
- March 28, 2023, School Board Meeting - LCS School Board decision on adoption after considering the committee recommendation and the results of the public review and comment period
