News and Updates

  • Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to a new and exciting year at Heritage Trails! HTCS staff are extremely excited about the 2018-2019 school year and have been involved in several professional development opportunities this summer including academic areas, trauma informed care and restorative practices! The theme for the year will be “We may all be different fish but at our school we swim together”.  Our mission at HTCS has always been to have relationships as a foundation for student growth. This year we will be growing in that area by introducing the restorative circling process with our students. Students will also have the opportunity for social /emotional learning through off campus trips. Our Middle and High School students will be participating in our outreach program “HTCS Cares”. Our first project will be weekly visits to Centre Point Rehabilitation center. Our elementary students will also have many opportunities for off campus enrichment.

We have two amazing returning teachers, please welcome back Ms. Holloman who will be teaching high school Science and Mrs. Owens who will be teaching elementary.

Communication is important to us, please know that HTCS staff are always available for our students and families. We look forward to seeing you at Open House on Monday, September 17th so that we can share our plans for the 2018-2019 school year and have our families participate in a circle session. Please notice the Event Calendar in this packet as it will remind you of school events and other important dates.

Please complete the attached forms and return them to the school tomorrow, August 14th. All forms are due no later than Friday, August 17th.  It is important that we have up-to-date emergency contact information for parents and guardians of all students and permission for your child to use the internet. If your information changes during the school year, please contact Ms. Capuano as soon as possible. Please remember it takes 5-10 days to change a bus route.

Our school day begins at 9:00a.m and ends at 3:15p.m. To develop relationships with our students before the day starts, it is important that your child arrives to school on time and attends school regularly. Supervision begins at 8:45a.m and ends at 3:30p.m. Please ensure that your child does not arrive on campus before supervision begins.

We look forward this exciting year at Heritage Trails!
