    Autumn is a time when many families gather to share good food and good cheer.  This November, students at Hawks Rise are invited to spread joy by donating non-perishable food items to the Salvation Army’s Project Joy Food Drive.  Donations collected during the drive will be distributed to needy families in our area, ensuring that they can enjoy this time of celebration and togetherness.

    Students, please bring your food donations to the cafeteria beginning on Monday, November 13th and ending on Friday, November 17th.  Let’s see how high we can stack our cans and boxes!

    Suggested food items include the following:

    Hawks Rise Elementary School wants to promote literacy and the love of reading by building a free book exchange, called a Little Free Library.  It is located at Mt. Pisgah AME Church, 256 Fairbanks Ferry Road, Tallahassee, FL.

  • Join Us at Fairview!

    Throughout the year, students at Fairview enjoy Jazz during lunch, played by their own peers! This Thursday, November 16th, you can see what it's all about! The Fairview Jazz Band, along with the RHS Jazz band, Leon Jazz Band, The Good Little Chickens & more, will perform in the courtyard from 6-8pm. Fans should bring lawn chairs, a picnic dinner & enjoy the music under the open sky.

  • LCS 4th Graders Visit Smokey Hollow (VIDEO)

    LCS 4th Graders increased their knowledge of local history with a visit Smokey Hollow. The field trip is part of the Blended Lives program going on this week.

  • Leon High Journalism Class and Humans Of New York

    Leon High School Journalism/English teacher Phillip Wenturine introduced the Humans of New York concept to his class. It has been a great tool to encourage diversity while breaking down cultural stereotypes. Once a month, students read stories, conduct interviews, and create content for their Instagram page.
