Committee Meeting Dates

- Monday, October 30, 2023, 7:00 to 8:00 pm. (virtually)
- Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (in-person, materials review for middle school grades 6-8, at the Aquilina Howell Building)
- Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (in-person, materials review for high school grades 9-12, at the Aquilina Howell Building)

6-12 Social Studies Adoption Process Start

LCS is pleased to announce the commencement of the adoption of secondary social studies instructional materials in the Fall of 2023-Winter 2024.
The process timeline will be as follows:
- Oct. 16-Nov. 27, 2023: Committee training, materials review, publisher presentations, committee members’ vote, school-site review/vote, tallying of votes.
- December 12, 2023: Committee Review Votes and Recommendation for School Board Consideration. A 20-day public review begins.
- January 23, 2024: Public Hearing*
- February 13, 2024: Recommendation to LCS School Board and School Board vote.*
*Dates are subject to change as School Board meeting dates are not yet set for 2024.
