Important Information about Middle School Athletics

  • Participation in Sports

    If home school, full time virtual school, private school, or charter school students wish to participate in sports at the public high school they are zoned for, the parents must notify the Principal and/or the Athletic Director BEFORE the first day of practice for that sport in order to be eligible to participate in that sport. All FHSAA paperwork and eligibility requirements must also be completed before the students can begin any activities associated with that team.

    Middle School Activity Association

    The Leon County Middle School Activity Association only endorses events that are played with in our designated sports seasons,and approved by our Principals. All outside events are not to be affiliated with the school.
     

    Championship Series

    For the championship series in the following sports, Basketball (boys & girls), Soccer (boys & girls), Softball, and Volleyball. The schools will be divided into two play-off divisions according to school enrollment. The regular 8 game season format will stay in place, playing each school one time for a total of eight games. At the end of the regular season the teams will be seeded by record and enter into a single elimination tournament. Football will play 7 regular season games. The teams will be divided in to two (2) play-off divisions based upon school population. The regular 7 game season format will stay in place, playing each school one time for a total of seven games. At the end of the regular season the two teams in each division with the best over-all records will compete for their respective divisional championship.
