Students and families, welcome to 8th grade! I am looking forward to working with you this year. This is going to be a year filled with fun and learning, as we prepare you for the exciting challenges of high school.

          I am a Tallahassee native. My husband and I have two children and one Boston Terrier dog named Maggie May. I graduated from Florida State University with my degree in English Education. I then earned my master’s degree in educational leadership & administration. I am also certified in elementary education K-6, English for speakers of other languages, middle grades integrated curriculum, and I have my gifted endorsement as well as my reading endorsement.

      This is my 13th year teaching with Leon County Schools. It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. I attempt to teach with a passion for reading and writing so that my students develop a desire to become life-long learners.

       Some of my favorite things are candles, coffee, flowers, bright colors, and cute office supplies for my classroom. I love to read, bake, and travel. My favorite place to be is anywhere with my family, but mostly at the beach or the lake with my toes in the sand and enjoying a view of the water. On the weeknights, you'll usually find me at a volleyball court with my daughter or the baseball field with my son. Our family are big-time Seminole fans, and our year is spent enjoying travel sports and our family.
