Meet the Coach

  • Elizabeth Watkins is from Cairo, Georgia which is a small town just north of Tallahassee. She began twirling at the age of four and by ten started competing with National Baton Twirling Association with her team. Shortly thereafter Elizabeth began competing individually for pageant titles, including solo, strut and modeling. Some of the latest titles she’s won include 2015 Regional Strut and Solo champion, State Solo and Strut Champion, and 2015 Miss Majorette of Georgia. Through winning the Miss Majorette title, she earned a trip to nationals at Notre-Dame University where she placed 2nd in World Open Strut and 4th in World Open Solo. Also, in the 2015 season she won 1st place in both Solo and Strut at the International Twirl Mania Competition held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports each year. In addition to competing, Elizabeth served as Captain of her Middle School and High School majorette lines. Her most recent highlight was twirling with the Florida State University Marching Chiefs in 2017.

Outside of twirling Elizabeth is a 2016 Honor Graduate of Cairo High School and is currently at Florida State University pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering with plans of graduating in May 2021.

As an coach, Elizabeth concentrates on teaching core fundamentals. Once those basics are conquered, the creativity of the sport can be explored. With twirling, your potential is only limited by your imagination.
