The brain bowl is an educational program to help young people gain insight into history. It is a way for them to learn about historical figures who've made an imprint on society. It was created as an incentive to encourage youth to study, know and understand African American contributions in the building of America.
Upon study and review of facts; students will participate in a question and response system, answering questions in many different areas. It is a fast-paced, fun game where students compete with other middle schools. At Montford Middle School, we will practice every other Monday starting in October and the season will culminate with a Black History Brain Bowl Tournament in February.
ANNOUNCEMENT: All students who signed up for the Black History Brain Bowl should have picked up their question packets from Mrs. Wood's classroom. If you have not picked up your packet, please stop by Mrs. Wood's classroom. Our next regularly scheduled meeting will in September 21st and every other Monday at 8:45 am in my classroom.
