    Annotated List of Works Consulted

    Primary

"American President: Kennedy Announces Cuban Missile Crisis–October 22, 1962." Miller Center of Public Affairs. University of Virginia. Web. 09 Jan. 2011. <http://millercenter.org/president/events/10_22>. This source helped clearly explain the main cause for question over who broke international law. This article goes on to state that a naval blockade, President Kennedy's choice of action in response of discovering missiles, is in fact considered an act of war under all international treaties. However, Kennedy imposed the term "quarantine" instead to avoid reprimandment.

Disney, Walt. "Famous Quotes." BrainyQuote. Web. 26 Oct. 2014. <http://www.brainyquote.com/>.

    Secondary

"Causes of the Crisis." BBC - Homepage. British Broadcasting Corporation. Web. 27 Sept. 2010. <http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/history/mwh/ir2/causesofthecubacrisisrev1.shtml>. This source provided me with knowledge of relations between the USA,USSR, and Cuba. Other major events such as the Vienna Summitt, beginning of the building of the Berlin Wall, and Bay of Pigs.

Frankel, Max. "How Far The Brink." High Noon in the Cold War: Kennedy, Khrushchev, and the Cuban Missile Crisis. New York: Ballantine, 2004. 173-81. Print. This chapter of High Noon In the Cold War helped me discover several of the effects of the Cuban Missile Crisis such as Khruschev being overthrown from power by his civilian associates. Several main theories of him being overthrown exist today.
