Hello Hawks Rise Families!

I'm thrilled to be a School Counselor here at Hawks Rise Elementary School!  Most recently, I taught gifted education at the Elementary level.  My certification areas are Guidance Counseling, Elementary Education, Middle Grades Mathematics, and Gifted Endorsement.  I live in Tallahassee with my husband and daughter, who is a high school senior.  Our son recently graduated from UF and is now married and working as an engineer.

Here are some of my duties here at Hawks Rise: 

Referral Coordinator: Helping students and families with the RtI process, ESE staffings, and gifted referrals

504 Coordinator: Assisting families of students with disabilities

Special Area Guidance Teacher for 2nd grade: Teaching character development topics such as responsibility and respect

Xcel teacher: K-2 classes

Individual counseling: Helping students academically and socially in grades K, 2, 4

Recycling coordinator (Green Team): Guiding students to help with recycling on campus

I also help with these areas: Red Ribbon Week, Drug Awareness Education, Bully Prevention Education, Helping Hands, Human, Growth, and Development, and supporting famiies in need or crisis.
