Hello, and welcome to Hawks Rise Varied Exceptionalities K-5 Class! My name is Christina Shingles Barriner and I am a Tallahassee native. I am married and have two children: Chris (21 and Damita (4), yes I get laughed at alot! Teaching came to me naturally, especially when my son was identified as an exceptional student.

I earned an Associates of Arts Degree from Tallahassee Community College, and transferred to Flagler College where I earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Education K-6 and Exceptional Student Education K-12. I also have endorsements in Reading and English Speakers of Other Languages. My teaching career began in Gadsden County where I taught a 3rd-5th Varied Exceptionalities Class, 1st grade, and K-2nd Varied Exceptionalities Class. In 2016, I joined Leon County Schools and taught 1st grade at John G. Riley Elementary. I am thrilled to say this is my 4th year at Hawks Rise Elementary!
