Mrs. Amy Franklin

My name is Amy Franklin and I teach 4th & 5th grade gifted science, 3rd grade gifted science, 3rd grade social studies and 3rd grade STEAM Special Area at Hawks Rise Elementary.  Let me introduce myself and share some things about me.

I am a Florida native and grew up in the St.Petersburg area where I lived through high school.  I came to FSU for my undergraduate studies which is where I met my husband of 26 years.  I worked in retail management for a year before getting married and moving back to Tallahassee to attend graduate school for elementary education.  I taught 3rd grade at Buck Lake Elementary and then was blessed to be able to stay home to raise my three children.  I returned to teaching nine years ago at Hawks Rise Elementary.  In these past nine years, I have taught the XCEL science program to gifted students in K-5th.  While at Hawks Rise, I have also taught 4th grade Language Arts, 3rd grade advanced math and 4th & 5th grade math.

My husband, Russ, and I have three children:  Molly (22), Anna (20), and Matthew (16).  In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, go to the beach and work in my yard.
