Mrs. Amy Franklin

My name is Amy Franklin and I teach the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade ACE (Advanced Curriculum Enrichment) gifted classes.

I am a Florida native and grew up in St. Petersburg.  I came to FSU for my undergraduate studies, which is where I met my husband of 30 years.  I worked in retail management for a year before getting married and attending graduate school earning my Master’s degree in Elementary Education.  I taught 3rd grade at Buck Lake Elementary and then was blessed to be able to stay home to raise my three children.  I returned to teaching fourteen years ago at Hawks Rise Elementary where I have taught the gifted program to K-5th.  In addition to gifted, I have also taught 4th grade Language Arts, 3rd grade advanced math, 4th & 5th grade math, 3rd grade STEM and I have co-sponsored the HRES Mini Mu math team for several years.  This will be my 15th year of teaching and my 14th year teaching gifted at Hawks Rise.

My husband, Russ, and I have three wonderful children:  Molly (26), Anna (24), and Matthew (20).  In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, go to the beach and work outside in my yard. I love teaching gifted and enjoy challenging my students to be their very best.
