Being a teacher has been a very rewarding way to spend the last 29 years.  From the minute I entered Miss Newton's kindergarten class in Savannah, I knew how I wanted to spend my life.  Being an Air Force brat gave me the opportunity to experience schools in several states as well as overseas in Japan.
Becoming a mother was completely life changing.  I have two children, both of whom became engineers.  We were extreme Science Fair participants at our house.  Now that I am a grandmother, I am enjoying my two grandchildren.  My grandson is ten years old and is  in 4th grade.  My granddaughter is six years old and is in 1st grade.  They live in Colorado, which is much too far away from Tallahassee.  Thank goodness for Zoom!
As a Seminole, I earned an Art Degree and continued on to get a Master's Degree in Elementary Education.  I became National Board Certified in 1999 in Early Childhood Education.  In addition to my Florida Teaching Certificate, I have both a Reading Endorsement and ESOL Endorsement.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, working in the yard, crocheting, and caring for my cats.
