Flu, RSV, COVID-19 & Common Illness Guidelines
To keep our students and staff safe and healthy, please review the illness protocols below and help us reduce the spread of infection on campus.
🤒 When to Keep Your Child Home
Not sure if your child is too sick for school? Use these quick guidelines:
-
Fever: Temperature of 100°F or higher — stay home until fever-free for 24 hours without medication.
-
Sore Throat: Especially with fever or swollen glands. For strep throat, students can return 24 hours after starting antibiotics.
-
Diarrhea: Three or more loose stools in 24 hours.
-
Vomiting: Two or more episodes in 24 hours.
-
Rash: If accompanied by fever, itching, or swelling — check with your doctor.
-
Cough/Nasal Discharge: Persistent cough or green discharge may be contagious.
-
Ear Pain with Fever: May indicate an ear infection — seek medical care.
-
Eye Redness/Drainage: Crusting, pus, redness, or pain could be signs of "pink eye."
-
Chickenpox: Stay home for 5 days after blisters start or until all are scabbed and dry.
-
General Illness Symptoms: Unusual fatigue, paleness, lack of appetite, confusion, or difficulty waking — consult a healthcare provider.
