Welcome to Culinary Arts 1 (Period 3, 4, 5, & 6), Culinary Arts 3 (Period 2) & Culinary Arts 4 (Period 3, 4, 5, &6)!Students will be using the National Restaurant Association ProStart Curriculum and there are 3 main components to the instruction:They are:
- Text - We utilize the Foundations of Restaurant Management & Culinary Arts, Level ONE & Level TWO 2nd Edition.
- PowerPoint/Video/Guest Speaker - At times I will use PowerPoint presentations, videos, and guest speakers to emphasize the information presented in our textbook, in order to provide a more in depth knowledge base to the topics at hand.
- Kitchen Labs - Practical demonstration and evaluation will take place in our classroom kitchens. In addition to the labs that will highlight units covered in the textbooks, the Culinary Arts 3 class will be completing catering jobs and Culinary Arts 2 will be providing support to those catering jobs through prep work.
