Degrees and Certifications:

PhD in Spanish Language and Literature from Florida State University.

Dr. Julia M. Sullivan

My lifelong teaching career led me to Leon High School in January of 2014.  Before that, I started my teaching at Lincoln High School in the '80's.  I got my PhD in 1988 and went to teach for a 3-year assignment at Valdosta State.  In 1994 I began teaching at Florida State University and was there for 13 years teaching mostly 3000-level beginning literature classes in Spanish. My job came to an end in 2006 at FSU and shortly after that I went to Rickards High School where I taught all levels including AP Spanish for 5 years.  I quit teaching there and went to Ecuador for 2 months in the fall of 2013.  After that, I came back to Tallahassee and began looking for a job.  To my great luck, there was an opening for a Spanish teacher at Leon High School.  Which brings me to the present.  I have been here at Leon for over 6 years now and I am loving it!  This is truly a great school.
