BA Mathematics/Music MS Pure Mathematics

Mr. Jacob Arnett

My name is Mr. Arnett and I am very excited to teach my fourth year at Leon High School!

Born and raised in Michigan, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Music from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 2008. I moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University for graduate studies in mathematics. In 2015, I received my Masters Degree in Pure Mathematics from FSU. I have taught various math classes at Tallahassee Community College and Florida State University and I was thrilled to make my home at Leon High School in 2017. While at Leon, I have helped the Thespian Troupe, the Leon Leonettes dance team and the NAS Math Brain Bowl team.

In my free time, I participate in community theatre around Tallahassee. I have appeared on and off stage at Theatre Tallahassee (White Christmas, Singin' in the Rain, Sister Act), Quincy Music Theatre (Beauty and the Beast, Anything Goes, Legally Blonde), Teathre TCC! (Fame!, Urinetown), the Spanish Trail Playhouse (Beauty and the Beast, 9 to 5) in Chipley, FL and the Monticello Opera House (Dracula, A Chorus Line). Recently, I directed my first two productions (Anything Goes, The Wizard of Oz) with Quincy Music Theatre. From 2013-2016, I taught jazz and tap dance at Hannah Bergstrom School of Dance.
