• Expectations for Distance Learning

    #1 -  COMMUNICATION:

Remind (Use the link on my Welcome Page)
Microsoft Teams - all of your classes should be populating under the "Teams" tab

These are my preferred methods for you to get in touch with me.  Please do not assume that I know who you are if you are using a personal email or a weird username.  Introduce yourself and at least give me your full name.

IF I DO NOT RECEIVE ANY CONTACT BY TOMORROW, I WILL START CALLING PARENTS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.
Contact=email (try replying to this email πŸ™‚/remind message/teams messaging/submitting assignments.
If you have already made contact, then YOU ARE GOOD!

    #2 - AVAILABILITY:

My "Office Hours"  will tentatively be from 10am-12pm and from 1pm-2pm.  I appreciate that you may not actually be completing work during these hours, and feel free to send me a message whenever a question pops up, BUT my windows for replying will be during those hours stated, unless I feel like I have time to respond at another time.

    #3 - ASSIGNMENTS:

I've created digital copies for you to READ and FOLLOW directions from at home.  I have shared them through Email and Teams and attached them to FOCUS.
IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU READ ALL DIRECTIONS!!! READ THEM AGAIN! THEN IF YOU STILL HAVE QUESTIONS, LET ME KNOW.

    #4 - SUBMITTING ASSIGNMENTS:

I prefer that you submit ALL assignments digitally to reduce contact of paper.

Option #1 –Submit your files by uploading them in FOCUS.
Option #2 –Submit your files by uploading them in MICROSOFT TEAMS
Option #3 –BRING HARD COPIES TO THE SCHOOL, PLEASE CALL THE SCHOOL TO LET THE OFFICE KNOW YOU ARE STOPPING BY.

    #5 - GRADING:

I've set assignments to be due on a weekly basis.  That means I will be entering grades on Fridays or the following Monday.  Be prepared to see "Z"s in the gradebook leading up to the due date, so that you can see how not completing an assignment will impact your grade.

ALL ROADS LEAD BACK TO FOCUS.  IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT "COUNTS" FOR A GRADE, JUST CHECK FOCUS.

    #6 - BEYOND 4/15 -

The District, Leon High School, and myself support the use of Microsoft Teams (a feature of Office 365)!  After April 15th, it is my intent to push out assignments, and KEEP track of communication through Teams. Whether you work on a laptop, computer, your phone, or tablet; through Classlink/Office 365, you have access to Microsoft Teams.  You can download the Teams app and use your school login credentials to access the app. IF YOU HAVE TECH ISSUES WITH USERNAME/PASSWORD, YOU MUST GET THOSE SORTED THROUGH THE DISTRICT IT DEPARTMENT.

ALL OF MY STUDENTS (YES, EVEN YOU MY SENIORS) ARE EXPECTED TO BE ENGAGED AND ATTEMPTING TO COMPLETE ASSIGNMENTS. COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE!

We will get through this year together, with patience, grace, flexibility, and compassion!

Let me know if you need anything!
