MCJROTC Leadership Camp Overview
This camp will provide students the opportunity to learn one of the most important traits in life – Leadership. It is also excellent opportunity to get to know other students, to earn ribbons and awards, to earn credit for graduation, and best of all have fun. Additionally, students attending this summer program will progress physically and academically ahead of those students who do not attend.
Proposed Schedule of Activities:
Leadership Academics: Topics include Goal setting, How to Study, Organization and Regulations, Leadership Traits, Customs and Courtesies, Rank Structures, and an introduction to Manual of Arms.
Personal Fitness: The importance of health, hygiene, physical fitness issues are stressed. Standards are introduced and cadets are organized as platoons (team concept) to encourage them to improve personally and as a group.
Inspection: Hygiene, respect for privacy and standards of personal appearance are taught and reinforced.
Marksmanship Safety: lesson introduces cadet to the historic applications of marksmanship and its current application as a sport.
Outdoor Survival Skills: Land Navigation, Team Building skills are introduced.
Lunch: Cadets will be required to bring either a bag or microwavable lunch/Bottle Water. During lunch, a cadet leader will be assigned to each platoon to lead discussion about goals, values, etiquette, etc.
