Model United Nations
-
The Model United Nations club is one of James S. Rickards High School's premier student organizations. Each year, the Rickards MUN team sends delegations to compete at conferences across the state of Florida, including KnightMUN, GatorMUN, TSMUN, FHSMUN, and Columbia Model United Nations that takes place every winter in New York City.
In 2014, Rickards Model United Nations was the first school from the Tallahassee area to attend the prestigious Columbia Model United Nations and Exposition in New York City. In our first year in the Big Apple, Rickards took home 4 awards, including Outstanding and Best delegate and additionally 2 Verbal Commendations.
At FHSMUN 32, the delegations of Indonesia and Iraq won Outstanding Delegation and Distinguished delegation respectively. Our school received "Most Awards Awarded" at KnightMUN X and Honorable Mention as Brazil at FHSMUN 33. This year at FHSMUN 34, our delegation of Argentina received an Outstanding Delegation. Many of our members have also achieved several individual awards at KnightMUN and GatorMUN as well. The James S. Rickards High School Model United Nations club hopes to continue its strong presence at future conferences.
Model United Nations Announcements

Model UN returned from our GTMUN trip to Atlanta last night, and Mr. Coney, myself, and the students had a wonderful time. This is a challenging conference, in similar ways to GatorMUN, with schools coming from around the country to Georgia Tech’s campus.
We took 16 students, who experienced considerable growth as public speakers and diplomats in 2 days of intense, interpersonal strategizing, and came back with 3 recognitions!
