  • World of Works (WOW)

Leon County Public Schools is excited to announce an incredible opportunity on October 24th for your 9th-grade student! We have organized a county-wide field trip, World of Works (W.O.W.)—North Florida https://www.northfloridaworldsofwork.com/, to expose high school students to various career possibilities and provide them with hands-on experiences in career clusters.

The primary goal of this field trip is to help your students explore different career paths and better understand the options available to them after graduating high school. By participating in this event, they will interact with various professionals from our Leon County or Big Bend community to gain insight into high-demand and high-wage careers.

Leon County Public Schools believes this field trip will be educational and an unforgettable experience for all participating students by helping them make more informed decisions about their future high school courses and career pathways.

Permission slips will be distributed after Labor Day!

Safe Schools

  • Safe Schools

Pursuant to federal law, students may not be denied a public education. As such, Leon County Schools is committed to providing a world class education in a safe environment for all students--regardless of immigration status.

LCS administrators will continue to enforce Board Policy 5540 in relation to non-DCF law enforcement investigations involving students on campus. This policy requires parents’ consent in order to provide access to students unless there is a warrant or an exigent/emergency circumstance such as an investigation involving a missing child.

LCS counselors have been trained to provide support for students and families who may be impacted by changes to federal law. The safety and security of all our students will continue to be our top priority.
