  • Wednesday, October 14th Is  PSAT Day at: James S. Rickards

The PSAT/NMSQT (or National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a preliminary version of the SAT. Not only does the PSAT help prepare students to take the SAT or ACT, a great score on the PSAT can also open the door to National Merit Scholarships and other awards. The PSAT will be administered to all 10th-grade students free of charge;  9th, 11th grade, and non-Rickards students wanting to take the PSAT may register to take the exam. The cost of the exam is $17.00. Registration and payment for the exam can be completed through our e-funds system.  Registration is from September 1 to  September 30. Study packets for sophomores will be distributed in their English class. Study packets for other students may be picked up in the main office. Students are to bring # 2 pencils and an approved calculator (listed in the practice book). Please check with your English teacher for the testing location.
