  • Locker Clean Out for Middle School

Esteemed Fort Braden Middle School Parents and Students,

As we move toward the end of the 2019-2020 school year, we have some housekeeping tasks to undertake in order to prepare for the upcoming year.  We will work together to reunite your students with the belongings they left behind in their lockers during spring break.  Be reminded that the items left behind as of Friday, March 13th have been undisturbed and will be returned in the condition in which we found them.

At the time we were unaware of the extent of the challenges that COVID 19 would present.   Since that time we’ve continued to learn from a distance and have made many changes in our day to day interactions within our fellow classmates, teachers and other members of our community in an effort to lessen the impact of COVID 19 on our families.  Please note the dates and times listed below.

We are aware that some families may have more than one child in middle school, thus you will only have to come to the campus once.  We will provide the belongings of all your children upon request.

Staggered Grade Level Pick Up Days as follows:

    6th grade: Monday, May 11, 2020 from 9:00AM. to 3PM

    7th grade: Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from 9:00AM to 3PM

    8th grade: Wednesday, May 13, 2020 from 9:00AM to 3PM

    Parents/Guardians pick up procedure:

In order to safely fulfil this task safely and efficiently we are asking that the following procedure be followed by our families as you bring your children to the Fort Braden campus to gather their belongings.

    1. Enter our campus through the WEST gate/bus loop entrance on your designated day.

    2. You will remain in your vehicle the entire time on campus!!!!!

    3. As you approach the bus loop you will encounter a staff member

    1. Through your open window give that staff member your child’s name
    2. You will be asked to move forward and wait briefly as your child’s belongings are located and brought out to your vehicle
    3. Open your trunk so the items can be placed in your vehicle without any contact
    4. Once your trunk has been closed, you will be prompted to exit.

    Important:

     Parents and Students,

    •  Be reminded that our top priority is the safety of all parents, students and staff, thus you will not be able to check the contents of the bag placed in your vehicle until you arrive at home.
    • In addition, your child may have been sharing a locker with a classmate or two or three.
    • That means your child will have all the contents of that locker in their possession.
    • We discourage student’s from sharing lockers unless previously approved by a team leader, but we understand that things happen!  That said, your child assumes responsibility for the items they allowed to be stored in the locker they were officially assigned without prior approval.
    • Please bag and tag those items that do not belong to your child and contact Mr. Wallace at Fort Braden School to determine a suitable day for drop off.

     We are better together!!!

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time!!
