Required Assignment Details
In reading, this week we are focusing on Wonders unit 5, week 2. The comprehension skill this week is cause and effect. This skill is review. The grammar skills are antonyms and synonyms. Another focus skill this week is fact and opinion. All of these are review skills. I have included a few videos to help review these skills.

Optional Assignment Details
If you are interested in your child completing more skills correlated to Wonders lesson 5.2, please use the link below and choose what you like. My advice would be to go over the vocabulary and spelling words using the link below. They are listed on the "weekly outline." Also, remember your child may play correlated games by logging onto ConnectED using ClassLink.
Math
This week's optional work will focus on the second half of chapter 11 which covers fractions. This is lessons 11.7 - 11.10. This is new material which is why it is optional. I've included helpful links below to introduce this skill.

This week's optional science assignments continue our focus on life science. We will focus on life cycles and food chains. Watch the Bill Nye video on "Life Cycles." You can then watch the PowerPoint on the life cycle of a frog and answer the questions on the last slide of the PowerPoint.

Social Studies
