Mrs. Mestre

I wanted to let you know a little about my background.  I am married to my husband, Juan, and have three grown children.  My older daughter, Jessica, graduated from the International Baccalaureate Program at Rickards High School in 2006, Amherst College in 2010, and Michigan State University in 2015.  She is an academic advisor at UCF.  Her husband, Will, is an Imagineer at Disney!  My son, Victor, is a 2009 graduate of Chiles High School and is now in the United States Air Force stationed in Seattle, Washington.  He lives there with his wife, Karen, where he is a jet engine mechanic.  They have a year-old son names Maddox.  My younger daughter, Cece, graduated from Chiles High School in 2010 and from the University of Central Florida in 2014.  She lives with her husband, Brandon, in Orlando.  She just gave birth to their first child, Elliott.  Brandon is an engineer with Lockheed Martin.  I live in Killearn Lakes, right behind Deerlake Middle School.

I graduated from FSU and taught fifth, sixth, and seventh grade for eight years.  Then I stayed home with my own children for ten years.  While at home, I tutored part-time at Sylvan Learning Center.  I was also an active volunteer at DeSoto Trail Elementary.  This gives me insight into how it feels to be a volunteer in the classroom.  Volunteering at school, or at home, is such a great way to be involved in your child's education.

This is my twenty-second year teaching at Buck Lake.  I have taught second grade for a majority of that time but I have also taught third.  I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach your child this year.

I enjoy visiting our children and grandshildren as much as possible.  My hobbies include family, travel, photography, and FSU football.  Go 'Noles!
