  • Dear Buck Lake Community,

Thank you for being a tremendous support to our school.  It never ceases to amaze me just how dedicated our community is.  I truly believe that we have the best teachers, staff, parents, and students in Leon County.  It is a privilege to be your Principal.

I would encourage you to join our Listserv if you have not already done so.  This is a great way to stay informed about the happenings at our school.  You will receive regular communication such as our Principal’s Newsletter and PTO Dispatch, as well as other timely updates.  I also invite you to Like Us on Facebook.

We take great pride in our home-school relationship.  Parents and family members are encouraged to visit the school, to volunteer in classrooms, to eat lunch with their child, and to be involved. Please remember that a new Volunteer Application must be done each year for you to volunteer in the classroom or to attend field trips with your child.  These applications are processed at the district level and can take up to two weeks for clearance to be granted.  Taking a few minutes at the beginning of the school year to complete this task will save everyone the frustration of not being cleared when you want to participate with your child’s class.

Please consider joining our PTO.  The PTO Board meets monthly.  This is a great group of committed parents and teachers.  We need your help in guiding our school.  This is a terrific way to get involved and we are always looking for more hands and voices.

If you ever have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, Mrs. Quiggins and I are available via email or by calling the front office.  We look forward to continuing to serve this great community.  Thank you for all your support.

    Go Bobcats!

    Billy Millard

Coming Soon!

  • Bash

Buck Lake Elementary's annual Bash carnival is Saturday, February 8th from 10:00-2:00 at Buck Lake School.  This is a huge community event that rely's heavily on parent, staff, & youth volunteers to make it a success.  We are recruiting youth, staff, parent, and other adult volunteers via this Sign Up Genius (SUG) above and beyond the class booth SUG's that are intended for PARENTS ONLY to cover the shifts for their specific class assigned booth.  Please let me know if you have any questions about this revision from prior years.

ALL volunteers (including youth) MUST register their clearance with Leon County at least 3 days prior to the event via:  https://volunteers.leonschools.net/Volunteers

YOUTH VOLUNTEERS:  Please ONLY sign up for a slot designated as "Youth".  Please arrive on time for your shift, report to the youth volunteer check in/out table located in the hallway near the ESE classrooms (front of school across from the library), and will be directed to an assigned booth at that time. Please understand that we will likely do some booth shuffling during your shift if needed. Youth volunteers can park in the back of the school or be dropped off/picked up at the front or back parking lot.  Bring your hours log/form to be signed off on when your shift is over.  Youth volunteer will receive 10 free tickets to be used at Bash. Share this event opportunity with your friends, please.

Please visit the PTO website for ticket and booth information:

    Good afternoon,

Please take a few moments to log-in to FOCUS and update your child’s Health Form.  This should only take a few minutes and is much easier than our old method of filling out a new one each year.  When you log in, you will see the following screen:

    FOCUS

You will be unable to view anything else in the platform until this is taken care of.

Link to log in to FOCUS:  https://www.leonschools.net/parentportal

    Thank you for your help!
