• Hello parents, guardians, and students,

My name is Robert Amstutz and I am the Latin teacher at James S. Rickards High. Additionally, I sponsor Junior Classical League (JCL), Pangaea, and I am the Co-CAS Coordinator.

I teach all of the Latin classes here at Rickards taking students from knowing nothing more than the Roman alphabet all the way up to readings that students would do in a graduate level Latin class. Should a student need help during a  quarantine period, my planning periods are 4th and 5th. As such, I can meet with students over zoom between 10:30 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. by appointment.

If you would like to reach out to me with any questions, E-mail is typically the easiest way to get a hold of me. I will also respond to messages through Focus, Canvas, or Remind.

Grades for assessments will typically be posted to Focus within two school days of the assessment. For any additional information about the courses I offer or extra help available to students, please check the canvas page for the student's class.

    • Remind code: please e-mail me to receive the code for your class, or locate it in the contact page of your canvas course.

    • My zoom meeting can be accessed here: https://leonschools-net.zoom.us/j/5912925288?pwd=V0xXUDVQc2cvTnVmTjZZeDRoZ3AzQT09
Upon entering the zoom meeting you will start off muted, but you can unmute yourself when you would like.

    • To access my class in Canvas, please click on the ClassLink icon.  Then, click on the Canvas tile.  You will see my course listed as one of your classes.

This year will be quite interesting as we return to a not quite normal school year.
