My job will be to help make sure the students have all the tools necessary to be successful. I have created a reading strategy that will assist students to break down and comprehend any reading passage for full comprehension. Students will receive additional academic, social, and emotional support that will help them succeed in their other courses, and in life.

All students will be using Study Sync and Canvas, and this is where they will find all the assignments for my class as well as submit assignments for grading.

AP Lang students will also use AP Central as another resource to assist with preparing for their exam.

Students must register on REMIND to receive daily announcements and updates. This is how students will communicate with me on a daily basis. Parents, you are welcome to join as well.

The AP Lang exam will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The exam is FULLY DIGITAL.

Summer reading assignment can be found on the James S. Rickards High School home page. They are due August 22, 2025.

If students would like additional support, please fill out an application for the 21st Century after-school program. Ask Dr. K. Satchell for more details.

House Bill 1105 BANS the use of cell phones during instructional time. Students will be asked to place their phones on silent and in their book bags prior to entering the classroom. Students will only be allowed to use cellphones during lunch and after school.

Due to COVID-19 and the frequently changing environment, the course and syllabus are fluid and may change based on new information from Rickards High School and the Leon County School district.
