  • Everyday Hero, Amon Rwito

A native of Nairobi-Kenya, and a longtime teacher at Kate Sullivan Elementary School, Mr. Amon Rwito is multi-lingual—literally and figuratively—since he is fluent in five languages. He also strives to inspire a love for curiosity and discovery through the language of his favorite subject—science. Mr. Rwito is equally skilled in the written word and is a published author of a children’s book. His multi-cultural, multi-subject-matter approach allows for an “exchange of ideas and knowledge with my students. It’s important to want to learn from one another. I learn from my students more than I think I teach them.” #ThankATeacher
