EmailEmail is a critical form of communication. Administration will send a weekly newsletter via email. Also, important information regarding school events and due dates will be sent via email. Teachers are expected to check email at least twice daily. Responses to emails should be made within 24 hours. Email passwords must be changed every 60 days or when prompted.Emergency Closing of SchoolThe Superintendent has the authority to close school. Teachers will receive emergency information via the intercom and/or email. If school is closed outside of the school day, the school phone tree will be employed to inform everyone.
Emergency Drill Procedures
Emergency drills will be practiced monthly. A laminated emergency card should be kept with the student roster, and another should be posted in the classroom with primary and secondary exits clearly noted.
Teachers should be familiar with the following codes:
- FIRE-one continuous sound to leave the building, pulsating sound to re-enter the building. Hold the green card up if you have accounted for all your students. Hold the red card up if you are missing students.
- BOMB THREAT-same as fire
- SEVERE WEATHER/TORNADO-short pulsating sounds over the intercom
- LOCK DOWN-announcement made by administrator/office staff over the intercom.
- “PREPARE FOR A FULL LOCK DOWN” - listen for message that the lock down is over.
