Week#1 Learning: 04/13-04/17
Monday - Listen to your favorite song and find the steady beat and demonstrate it somewhere on your body or by walking/marching/tiptoeing etc. to the beat.
Tuesday - Teach someone in your family your favorite song and then perform it together. Feel free to record it and share it with your family.
Wednesday - Sing a song while walking to the beat. Stop and clap the rhythm of the song. Repeat.
Thursday - Sing a lullaby to a younger brother/sister or to a stuffed animal. If you can’t remember a song, create one.
Friday - Create sound effects to go with a story (such as rain sounds, action sounds, sounds for particular characters, etc.). Perform them with the story for everyone at home.

Week#2 Learning: 04/20-04/24
Monday - Listen to a song without any words and draw a picture of what the music makes you think of or feel.
Tuesday - Use all of your voices today (speaking, singing, whispering, & shouting) singing a song you know.
Wednesday - Sing a song and add body actions or dance movements. Then perform it for someone in your family.
Thursday - Make a list of ice cream flavors and create your own song. Sing your ice cream song for a family member or to a stuffed animal.
Friday - Write down animals that make loud sounds and animals that make quiet sounds. Then partner with a family member and ask them to guess which animal is loud or quiet.

Week#3 Learning: 04/27-05/1
Monday - Create a hand-clapping game and teach it to someone else at home.
Tuesday - Make up a body percussion pattern for a song you like e.g. pat-clap-stomp-snap. Then perform it for your family.
Wednesday - Find two wooden objects (pencils, sticks, wooden spoons, etc) and play a rhythm pattern on a box, bucket or the floor. Teach it to someone else.
Thursday - While watching a movie or TV, listen and see what music (if any) is playing underneath what’s going on. Write down or talk about how the music helps to tell the story.
Friday - With another family member, create two rhythm patterns and play them together, using body percussion or found objects. Feel free to record it.

Week#4 Learning: 05/4-05/8
Monday - Pick 3-5 items in your house. Write the name of each item on a piece of paper* and determine the rhythm of the words (Hint: “bar-bie doll” has 3 sounds, ti-ti -ta
*if it’s a nice day use chalk outside instead!
Tuesday - Sing your favorite song for someone in your home. You can also sing the song to a family member who lives somewhere else using a cell phone or over a video chat.
Wednesday - Use a familiar tune (like “Happy Birthday”, “ABC song”, “Mary Had a Little Lamb”, etc.) to make up a jingle for a pet food commercial.
Thursday - Interview someone in your family about their favorite song.
Friday - Grill out theme! Create a diagram of other foods that have the same rhythm pattern. For example: Hamburger is ta-ti-ti or and Hot Dog is ta-ta

Week#5 Learning: 05/10-05/15
Monday - Create a hand-clapping game and teach it to someone else at home.

Wednesday - Find 2 metal objects (pots, pans, spoons, forks etc) and play a rhythm pattern on a box, bucket or the floor. Teach it to someone else.
Thursday - Go for a walk with a family member and listen for nature and animal sounds. Discuss and describe what you hear.
Friday - Create a kitchen band with your family. Create a slow, soft song and a fast, loud song.

Week#6 Learning: 05/17-05/22
Monday - Listen to your favorite song. Find the steady beat and make up a dance to it.
Tuesday - Teach someone in your family your favorite song and then perform it together.
Wednesday - Sing or create a rap song while walking to the beat. Stop and clap the rhythm of the song. Repeat.
Thursday - Make a list of fruits (strawberries, bananas, etc) and create your own song using them. Sing your fruit song to a family member or a stuffed animal.
Friday - Create sound effects to go with a story (such as rain sounds, action sounds, sounds for particular characters, etc.). Perform them with the story for everyone at home. Feel free to assign your family members a sound while reading the story.
