    The mission of the Hartsfield Magnet School for International Studies School Counselor is to provide equitable access to a data-driven comprehensive school counseling program. In partnership with all stakeholders, the school counselor is committed to implementing evidence-based practices to maximize students’ academic achievement, foster social/emotional growth, and to facilitate career development.

     
    School counselors help all students: 
    • apply academic achievement strategies 
    • manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills
    • explore their interests in the context of the world of work

     

    As a school counselor, I support ALL students regardless of sex, sexual orientation, gender, ethnic group identification, race ancestry, national origin, religion, color, or mental or physical ability. 
     
    Why Elementary School Counselors?
    The elementary school years set the foundation for developing the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for children to become healthy, competent and confident learners. Elementary school counselors have an impact on these years by implementing a school counseling program and collaborating with school staff, parents and the community to create a safe and respectful learning environment. By providing education, prevention, early identification and intervention, elementary school counselors help their students achieve academic success, develop an understanding of career opportunities and develop social/ emotional skills in response to issues they face.

    Hello! I'm Mrs. Campbell, the School Counselor at Hartsfield Magnet School for International Studies.
     
    I am a Certified School Counselor. I have worked in several different states. I have serviced grades PreK-12.
     
    Here at HMSIS I provide group counseling and classroom guidance lessons.
