What is the Shark Bowl?
This annual event occurs after leaders from the business community volunteer in Economics classes, where they share first-hand experiences over six sessions. With the goal of fostering entrepreneurship, they help students create unique business ideas and complete their own business models.
A student is chosen to represent each class, then these individuals compete in a school assembly to represent SAIL at the annual Shark Bowl. The Shark Bowl, loosely modelled after the television show Shark Tank, brings six local high schools together in competition. Sponsors of the event include the Jim Moran School of Entrepreneurship at FSU and the FAMU School of Business and Industry, among many others. Movers and shakers in business, education, and government arenas attend this annual event.

While all the class winners are invited to participate in the Shark Bowl, Carolina Cavano was chosen to represent SAIL as a finalist. Her business idea is Funky Junque Jackets, “one-of-a-kind creations that reflect current fashions as seen on popular social media sites and in magazines”. Great job, Carolina, Allen, and Natalia!
