  • School Counselor: 
     
    The mission of the SAIL School Counseling program is to provide a comprehensive, developmental program addressing the academic, college/career, and social/emotional development of all students. School counselors advocate for an environment that supports all students, helping them achieve their full potential along with a balanced high school experience. 
     
    School Counselors help all students: 
    • Apply academic achievement strategies 
    • Manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills
    • Plan for postsecondary options (higher education, military, work force)
     
     
    As the school counselor, I support ALL students regardless of ethnic group identification, race ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender,  national origin, religion, or mental or physical disability. 
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
    School Social Worker: 
     
    The purpose of the school social worker is to provide proactive emotional and social support as well as community resources to students and families. School Social Workers can assist with mental health concerns, behavioral concerns, positive behavioral support, classroom support, consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators.
     
    School social workers help by: 
    •  Advocating for new and improved community/school services to meet the needs of students and families
    • Assisting teachers with behavior management
    • Mobilizing family, school, and community resources to enable the child to learn as effectively as possible in their educational program
    • Providing crisis management
    • Providing mental health assessment and safety planning
    • Providing short term group and individual counseling services
