Mrs. Lisa Dollar

Mrs. Dollar has a degree in music education from the Florida State University. She is certified in Music K-12 and Elementary Education K-6.  She has completed additional studies in Classical music performance in Eisenstadt, Austria; and on W.A. Mozart in Salzburg, Austria. Mrs. Dollar has twice been named Teacher of the Year at schools in Hillsborough and Polk Counties. She has received the American Legion Award for Service to Youth, and the Florida Music Educators' Association Enrollment Award. She has conducted All-County Orchestras, and has been an adjudicator for orchestra assessments in several Florida districts. She has served as District 3 Chair and 7/8 All-State Chair of the Florida Orchestra Association. Mrs. Dollar is a member of the National Association for Music Education, the Florida Music Educators' Association, the Florida Orchestra Association, the Florida Vocal Association, Delta Kappa Gamma (Honor Society for Teachers), Sigma Alpha Iota (International Music Fraternity), and Kappa Kappa Gamma. Mrs. Dollar has performed with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra (Jackson), the International Haydn Festival Summer Academy Orchestra (Eisenstadt and Vienna, Austria), the Brevard Symphony Orchestra (Melbourne), the Tampa Bay Opera Orchestra, the Tampa Bay Chamber Orchestra, the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra (Ft. Myers), and the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra, among others. As a free-lance violinist, she has played in the orchestras of artists such as Ray Charles, Sandi Patti, Dudley Moore and Jason Alexander; and under accomplished conductors such as Anton Coppola and Harold Wheeler. Mrs. Dollar has worked as an Orchestra Director, Mentor Teacher and String Specialist with Hillsborough County Schools; Orchestra Director and General Music Teacher with Polk County Schools; Conductor of the Pinellas Youth Orchestra Beginning Strings; Conductor of the String Orchestra at Polk State College, and has been an instructor at the FSU String Orchestra Summer Music Camp. She taught at Deerlake Middle School from 2007-2020, and from 2022 to the present.  She is the Chorus and Orchestra Director, and the Guitar Teacher. As well, she writes and performs with her husband in the Saylor Dollar Band. She is Mom to two amazing kids.
