• The State Board of Education requires instruction 1003.42 (2)(n) on child trafficking prevention, suicide awareness and prevention, substance abuse education and five hours of resiliency instruction every year (Rule 6A-1.094124). The State of Florida has provided districts with required Resiliency Education topics that MUST be taught to students in grades 6 -12. These topics in the area of Civic & Character Education and Life Skills Education build confidence and support mental health to develop and prepare you to become more resilient students.     Deerlake's Resiliency day will be held on 12/6/24. This day will have a modified schedule and allow students ample time to work through each required instructional module on Canvas.  The materials used to cover these topics are provided by the Leon County School's district office.
