    Class Contest: 12/8/23

    The winner of the class contest will go on to compete in the school competition on 12/18/23.

    Students will present their individual speeches for the class and will be graded according to the following point-based rubric:

    5 points- Meets time length requirements (2-3 minutes long)

    10 points- Clear pronunciation and expression is demonstrated

    5 points- Clear introduction with "hook" as discussed in class

    10 points- Clear theme and main idea is expressed in the "body" of the speech

    5 points- Clear conclusion and "wrap-up/summary" is demonstrated

    *One student from each class will move on to the School Tropicana Speech held on December 18th, 2023 in the cafeteria. Parents are encouraged to attend!*

    *Update on 11/7/23: Students began brainstorming topics and preparing for speech and a parent letter will be sent home on 11/9/23 explaining the process in further detail. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Centers at centersp@leonschools.net.
