    Resources:
Listed below are some great resources and how to help your child at home.

I-Ready & Lexia - these programs are geared towards the students' academic level. Completing these lessons 15 minutes at home a day will help boost their confidence and increase performance levels.

Khan Academy - this great resource to keep understanding current, future, and past skills

Flash cards - multiplication, vocabulary, etc are a great resource to reinforce skills.

Homework - homework is a great resource to prepare students for daily lesson in the classrooms. It is important for them to complete in order to be prepared and successful in the classrooms. Students must watch the required lesson videos and come prepared with questions, ready to work. Videos are designed to build student background knowledge, maximize our time and learning in the classroom.

Teacher Websites - here you will find their homework, classwork, and other information pertaining to the classroom. Please visit Conley Elementary Home Page - click Teacher & Faulty - find your teachers name and click to visit.

Please make sure to visit my website for videos, classwork, and updates. There you will find all the information needed for your student to be successful in the classroom.

    Videos:

These are mandatory as it is a preview of the lesson being taught in class the following day.

    Science:
This year your student will be taking FSSA Science at the end of the year. This test in based on scenarios and having the background knowledge. I highly encourage you to review the tests and quizzes that are returned. Those are examples of questions your students will see on the test.

    Test Corrections:
The students are coming home with their Unit 5 science test and a Test Corrections page. Students have the opportunity to correct any missed or incorrect problems. They will receive half credit for each corrected problem. This could be the difference between a letter grade on their report card! These corrections are due no later than Wednesday, December 8th.

    Extra Credit:
I have uploaded an extra credit review for the students to complete onto my website. You can find it under 12/9 assignments, click on Chapter Review. For extra practice, the students have numbers highlighted in their math packet to practice for the upcoming assessment. Since our assessments are word problem based, this is a great way for student to practice. Students need to make sure their packets return Wednesday, December 8th, for us to review.

As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to me. Thank you for your support outside the classroom.

    9/29 - Success for Students

"For success, attitude is equally as important as ability", Harry F. Banks

As we are quickly approaching the end of the 9 weeks, I wanted to share some reminders with you for students to be successful in class. Please be sure to read all the information.

Videos: Our math class is a flipped classroom method. That means students have videos to review the night before class. The videos are considered "homework"; however, it is the teaching part of the lesson. In the videos, I will be going through the beginning part of the lesson teaching students the math concept/standard we are learning about. In class we review what the students tried on their own as well as continue to practice these standards.

Packets: Students come home with both math and science packets, so they do not have to carry the big heavy books back in forth; however, they need to bring the packets back and forth from school. These packets need to stay in their binder until we have completed the lessons as hand. To see what lesson we are on, please visit my website.

Website: My website is up to date on what we accomplish throughout the week, along with the videos for out daily math lessons. Assignments and videos can be found under the 'classwork' tab. This can also be helpful for when students are out. Also, you will find a tab labeled 'updates' that will have all the information I send out to parents regarding our class.

Focus: Please check Focus every Monday. This is when all missing work that has been turned in throughout the week prior and all the assignments, they completed the prior week will be uploaded. If an assignment is missing, Focus will let you know with a 'Z' or missing for that assignment. If they are missing any assignments, they can turn those in when they are completed.

Missing Assignments: ALL MISSING WORK NEEDS TO BE TURNED IN BY OCTOBER 14th! NO ASSIGNMENTS for the first nine weeks will be accepted passed October 14th.

Resources/Curriculum: Both out math and science book are both digital through ClassLink. If your student is missing an assignment, they can log on to ClassLink. think Central for math - Ed Learning for science.

Thank you all for the support outside the classroom.

    9/22 - Review for tomorrow's quiz

    Happy Friday Eve!

I have created a review for the mid-chapter quiz tomorrow for students to review. This is optional, but I did encourage the students to review it as it is only 9 slides. Please have the come to class tomorrow with any questions they have.

This resource can be found on the website under classwork -  9/23 Mid chapter. It is a link. the student can click on the link and write their answers on a piece of paper.

Thank you again for all your support outside the classroom.

    9/22 - Test Correction Science

    Good evening!

The students are coming home with their Unit 1 science test and a Test Corrections page. Students have the opportunity to correct any missed or incorrect problems. They will receive half credit for each corrected problem. This could be the difference between a letter grade on their report card!

For example:  If a student scored 80% and corrected ALL of the incorrect problems then their test grade would be 90.  This could be a great way for your child to bring up their grade! These test corrections are due on Tuesday, September 27th . This is NOT mandatory; it is completely voluntary.  Remember – students must have all of the sections filled in, have a correct answer, an explanation, and a parent signature in order to receive credit. If the answer is still wrong after the correction, no credit will be given. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your support outside the classroom.

8/24 - message from Mr. Threadgill (Ms. Centers sent the email)

Also, below is a quick message from our principal, Mr. Threadgill:

    Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians,

We have made a lot of progress with our drop-off and pick-up times since the start of school.  Currently there is no wait in the drop off line after 7:55am, with only a short wait prior to 7:55.  In the afternoon we have all cars loaded and gone by 3:20pm.  This is amazing considering we are still loading 300 cars a day.  Below I have outlined a few reminders to help our before and after school lines move even faster.  If you do not want to sit and wait for a long period of time, consider arriving in the car line after 7:50am in the morning or after 3:05pm in the afternoon for very short or no lines.

8/22 - Updates, Reminders, and Information email

    HAPPY FRIDAY FAMILIES!

Flipped Classroom: Please make sure your students are watching the videos prior to the lesson. The benefit of completing this test is so that students are prepared to come to class with questions and ready to work. Another benefit is that we get to focus our class time practicing and deeping our understanding of the standard or reviewing standards. Videos can be found on my website.

Grades: Grades for this week are being uploaded to Focus today. Please review your child's Focus every Friday for updates. If there is a "Z" in the gradebook that means I do not have the assignment and that it is missing. Please encourage your student to complete the assignment and turn it in. I will update Focus every Friday. If the assignment is turned in prior to Friday, it will be updated then. It is the student's responsibility to turn in their work to their block's basket.

Once on the home page, click on teacher websites, find my name (Courtney Camper), click on view website. I recommend visiting my website at least once a week. Attendance: School starts at 8:30. Please be sure to have students here on time. If they are late, they are missing valuable instruction. If your student is going to be out, please make sure to notify myself, Ms. Centers, and the office. Please email the office at cssoffice@leonschools.net. Also, when your student is out, please have them watch the video and complete any task they can from the website.

    8/10 - Reminders Email

    Good Afternoon Families!

It was so great meeting all of your students today. I look forward to a great year with them! Today was going over all the fun housekeeping stuff (Rules and Procedures), but tomorrow we will start going through our day and learning!

We are going to be working through our first official flipped classroom video. I will be going through it with them, to show them my expectations and what to expect. I have reminded them it is their responsibility to watch these videos before they come to class each day. Here is the link to the video we will be watching tomorrow if you would like to review it with your student. They will not get the assignment until tomorrow. Normally, they will get the assignment ahead of time. https://youtu.be/wTV2gLncsxc
Please remember that this is a learning process for all. This is the first year I am doing this method, and I am so excited to be trying it. Please be patient as there may be technical difficulties as we get this up and going. As this is very important to our daily lessons, please let me know if you do not have internet access. We will make arrangements for your student to obtain this information.

As a reminder, all information and links to videos will be on my website. Please remember to check it daily.

School Supplies: It is very important that your student has their 2" 3 ring binder, 5-tab dividers for their binders, composition notebooks (2 for my class not use about Ms. Centers') and their headphones. These items will help the student be organized and successful this school year!

Transportation: Please remember that any transportations changes from here on out need to be emailed to cssoffice@leonschools.net.

I am attaching our classroom wish list if you would like to take a look. I want to create STEM bins and wanting them to be as creative as possible. We also could use pipe cleaners, marbles, paper straws, cardstock, toothpicks. Thank you to the ones that have contributed so far! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/258BPFQZZ18B?ref_=wl_share

I am looking forward to a great, fun, and exciting year together!
