Dear Parents,Today your student will be coming home with a Love Note Order Form (I have also attached a copy to this email). Love Notes for PK-4th grades cost $10 for one-eighth of a page. 5th grade has the option to purchase one-fourth of a page for $15. They are also offering an option to include a small photo with the love note if desired. Order forms are due by December 19th.If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Bailey at baileyb@leonschools.net.11/17 - Updates

No late work will be accepted after this date.To find your students missing work please check their Focus, Ed Learning (overdue tab), and I-Ready (teacher assigned lessons). If there is an assignment that the student does not have you will find it on my website either attached to the name of the assignment on the day it was complete or the math and science tab for the curriculum book pages.Thank you for all your support outside the classroom.11/15 - Book Fair Volunteers Needed

Happy Thursday Families! On Monday. November 13, students will be taking their chapter 5 assessment. I have sent home extra credit that is due on Monday with a parent signature. It is pages 179 -184 in Chapter 5 packet. This packet can be found on my website under the math tab. Here is the link as well. https://www.leonschools.net/Page/44821I am also encouraging students to complete the Chapter 5 Practice Test located on Ed Learning (app on Classlink) prior to the Assessment on Monday. As well as any other chapter 5 lessons and practices that are assigned. These will be found under the assignments - click on overdue. This will help students prepare tremendously for our assessment. There are also a couple of lessons on I-Ready that I have also assigned to help students reinforce some of these same skills. If it is not on the front page, there is a tab that says pass due and could be under there.Thank you for all your support outside the classroom.10/6 - Reminders & Updates
Happy Friday Families!I just wanted to send out a few reminders and some updates.ALL MISSING WORK IS DUE OCTOBER 10TH. Students are able to turn in late work until this date. There is no penalty for turning in the work late. I just encourage the students to complete the assignments missing and turn them in.Yesterday, we spent the majority of the class working on missing assignments. I encouraged students to check Focus first and then Ed Learning for all of the assignments that are needed to be completed before the end of the nine weeks. Although, some assignments were able to be completed and turned in, there are still a few out there. I will be working today to upload grades as much as I possibly can. If you see an NG in grade that means that I received the missing work, however, I have not had a chance to input the grade.I have added two new tabs to my website. A math and science tab where you will find chapter resources. Although the curriculum textbooks can be found on Ed Learning, I wanted an easier way for your students to have access to it.For any online assignments on Ed Learning, students are to go to the assignment tab (at the top of the page) and their assignments will show up there. If an assignment has passed the due date, the assignment can then be found under the overdue tab, still under the assignments tab. I do use these lessons and assignments to help reinforce skills. For homework, I am encouraging students to complete the video (when available), Ed Learning lesson, and I-Ready. These things do not have to be done on the same day. The videos serve as direct instruction with example(s), so that we can spend our time in class practicing the skills. If there are no teacher assigned lessons on I-Ready, I do encourage students to continue on their path, as those are skills the student is working on. I also encourage them to continue practicing their math facts for fluency. My goal is for students to be successful. I know working together will help the students tremendously as they continue to prepare for middle school. Thank you for all your support outside the classroom.Sincerely,Mrs. Camper9/29 - Open House Information
An email was sent with information covered at open house on 9/21. The email was sent from Ms. Centers.

9/13 - At Home Practice
Happy Wednesday Families! As a whole, our class seems to be struggling with our math facts: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Success of students is one of my top priorities in the classroom. However, it is hard to be successful in math if students are still struggling with their math facts. Below, you will find some ways at home to help them gain confidence, fluency, and success in math.Flashcards: I highly encourage you to create or purchase flashcards. Have students drill themselves or with you for 10 - 15 minutes a night. To create flashcards, you can use sheets of paper cut with the fact on one side and the answer on the other side. If you chose to purchase them, they can be found at most locations such as Dollar Tree, Wal mart, Target, Amazon, etc.Facts sheet: For the next few weeks, my goal is to send home multiplication and division fact sheets. Fact sheets can also be found at this website. You can have students complete on a sheet of paper or print these sheets out for students to complete. This website can be used to help with multiple skills as well. https://www.commoncoresheets.com/math-drills-worksheetsIReady: In addition to flashcards, having students get on I-Ready for 15 minutes a day can also help them be successful in math. I-ready is geared to target their specific skills they need to work on. I-Ready can be found on Classlink.Centers/Station: I have found some interactive games and items to put in our center rotation for addition practice. If you would like to donate, here is my classroom wish list. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/258BPFQZZ18B?ref_=wl_shareThank you for all your support outside the classroom. I know working together we will have a successful year in fifth grade math!8/23 - Headphones
Good Afternoon Families,I am reaching out in regard to headphones. It is super important that your student has headphones. We use a number of different online resources that require the students to have headphones to listen to the lesson. It is more beneficial to their academic growth if they are able to hear the lesson. If you could please send headphones with your student daily, we would greatly appreciate it.Sincerely,Mrs. Camper & Ms. Centers8/23 - Division Video
Good Afternoon,Below you will find a video of our division lessons. I am hoping that I have worked out the issue and you should now be able to see it. I will upload it to the website as well. As a reminder, all future videos will be found on my website under classwork (link will be highlighted orangish/reddish).Thank you for your continued support outside the classroom.Sincerely,Mrs. Camper8/9 - Welcome & Important Information
