Hello. My name is Jay Hipps. I am the latest edition to the Deerlake Physical Education staff.

I have been in education since I graduated from Florida State University in 1990. I was a student manager for the Sminoles mens basketball team while attending college. I coached high school basketball  for more than 20 years in the Big Bend area for Maclay School, Madison High School, Godby, Wakulla and Lincoln High Schools. During this time I also coached golf, softball, cross country and track along the way.

I also was a high school basketball official for 3 years for the Quincy Officials Association.

I have 2 sons, 16 and 20 years old both of which attended Deerlake Middle!
