I hope each of you have a wonderful extended weekend. We recently took our “Wonders” test on unit 3 week 1 skills. Across the grade level, the students did not score well due to the difficulty of the test. The second grade teachers were given permission by administration to go over the assessment and then administer a retest. We will average the two grades together. U3W2 homework is located in your child's pink folder and is due on Tuesday, January 24th. 

Remember to have your child bring his/her blue folder daily.

Theme and Peek at next Week:

• Retake U3W1 assessment on Tuesday, January 17^th.
• Field trip to Mission San Luis on Wednesday, January 18^th.  Please have your child wear his/her class t-shirt and pack a bag lunch.
• Reading: Begin U3W2 on Wednesday, January 18^th. U3W2 assessments are scheduled for Wednesday, January 25^th. Please have your child visit the “Connected” website for “Wonders” to review weekly skills.
• U3W2 homework is due on Tuesday, January 24^th.

Math: We will continue 3-digit addition and subtraction w/ regrouping of ones, tens, and hundreds. Please continue practicing basic addition and subtraction facts with your child w/and w/out regrouping.

Science/Social Studies: Continue learning about Native Americans
