    Good Afternoon Students and Parents,

    I have missed seeing you!  I hope everyone is doing well.  I wanted to send out this email to explain how the next 8 weeks will work in case some of you are not on Remind.  If you are not on Remind, please sign up ASAP!  Code is @gg492g for AP Stat.  I will be sending all further communication through Remind and on Microsoft Teams.  Both Remind and Teams have an icon on your Classlink page.  Make sure you can get into both.  (Teams is still being put together and the county may not have it available until Monday.)

    We are still going to be getting ready for the AP Exam.  They have not released the new dates yet (will know April 3rd), but here is what I do know.  The exam will be 45 minutes, all FRQS, taken at home, they will be using plagiarizing detection software, and it will only be over topics 1-7 in the AP Classroom which is chapters 1-10 in our book.

    We will be having assignments as well as assessments every week to get ready for this exam and to give you a grade for the 4th nine weeks.  I know this is going to take some getting used to and there is definitely a learning curve we will have to deal with, but we will get through this together!  Feel free to text me through Remind or send me an email anytime you are having issues or questions.  I will send out my “official” office hours on Monday.

    The two main places we will be getting assignments/assessments are through Stats Medic and the AP Classroom.  All of you are signed up for the AP Classroom, make sure you can still access it.  None of you are signed up for Stats Medic yet.  Please use the following link and sign up by Monday morning.

    I will also be available to chat through Teams/Zoom (YAY I GET TO SEE YOU!!!!) and we will even try to have a class meeting through Zoom once a week.

    We have 8 weeks.  If you look on College Board’s AP Classroom for Stat there are 7 sections that need to be covered by the exam (since they are leaving out sections 8 and 9.)  We will review one section a week with the last week being just an overview of all topics.  Feel free to move ahead if you would like or use other materials/reviews not assigned.  Your book is always a great place for extra review!  I will attach to this email my outline of the next 8 weeks.  Keep in mind – this is very fluid and may change as needed but at least we have a starting place.

    To access Classlink:

    Go to www.leonschools.net.  You will see a blue cloud with “Classlink” written under it in the upper right corner.  Please click on this.  Your student then should enter their email address (their 9 digit student # @edu.leonschools.net for example: 123456789@edu.leonschools.net) and then they will enter their password.  For password help, email LincolnPasswords@leonschools.net.

    What is in Classlink?

    •   Click on the “Office 365” icon to access email through Outlook.  (You can also find Word, Excel or any of the other Microsoft programs here.)  I will be using their email and the Remind app to communicate. 
    • The Remind icon is blue and looks like a cloud.
    • This icon is purple.  This is where I will be attaching assignments and can communicate with students.  Teams are still being set up so I don’t see this being completely available until Monday. 

    OFFICE HOURS:

    The following times I will be sitting in front of a computer reading coronavirus memes and waiting to answer you questions:  MON – THURS 8-10 am.

    MON/WED 12:15-1:15  We will try to meet as a group.  We will see how this works….
