Ms. Frederick
Hi everyone! My name is Kelly Frederick and I am currently the Reading Coach at Buck Lake Elementary School. I am in my 22nd year of teaching and have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5t grades. I have been a Reading Coach for more than 6 years in Jefferson and Leon County. The most important role as a coach is to provide support for both teachers and students on a daily basis. I grew up in South Florida and taught at Charles Drew Elementary for 12 years. After that, I relocated to the Tallahassee area where I taught at W.T. Moore and Apalachee Elementary. I am grateful and excited to be a part of the Bobcat family at Buck Lake.
I have lived in Monticello, Florida for 6 years now and enjoy the peace and quiet of a small town. I have two dogs that are the "loves" of my life. Hank, a Boston Terrier, who will turn 10 this year. He was a rescue and is very protective of me. Fiona, a French Bulldog, who is only 1 and full of personality. They love to run in the yard and take afternoon naps. I can't imagine my life without them.
I love to cook, bake, and eat! Most weekends you can find me in my kitchen trying out new recipes from Pinterest. I enjoy cooking and baking so much that it is actually a stress reliever for me. I like to garden and like most of us, am trying to implement a fitness routine into my everyday schedule. However, most of all, I enjoy seeing the smiles of students when they are learning something new or just happy to be at school. During these unprecedented times, I miss seeing them and hope that they are all doing well.
